Organizational Background
Towfiiq umbrella organisation was formed to respond to the needs of the community from the effects of the long civil war that gripped the country and left it in turmoil. The state collapse and civil war in Somalia followed by years of inter-clan conflict in Somalia that led to the excessive destruction of both public and private infrastructures due to the lawlessness and chaos resulted to the formation of Somali resilience and Aid organization. Towfiiq Umbrella Organisation (TUOS) was formed by a group of professions from different professional backgrounds to contribute and provide humanitarian relief and development to the Somalia communities.

Mission
To promote human development program and mobilize Somali community by building awareness towards prevention of human rights violation by enhancing the living standard of the poor community by improving health, agriculture, education water and sanitation services.
Vision
To see Somalia with a central government and live in peace, justice and prosperity and improve the general socio-economic level of the population affected by wars and natural disaster
Our Core Programs
TUOS works to improve the wellbeing of communities through focused programs in nutrition, protection, and health.
Nutrition
TUOS nutrition programs are aimed at improving and enhancing the capacity of women on proper nutrition intake for the well being of the community.
Protection
TUOS is committed to protecting the physical and mental integrity of women, girls and vulnerable boys.
Health
With the support of various donors TUOS has established health facilities which provide reproductive and primary health services to women, children and the community at large.
Organizational Updates
Advocacy and Awareness
February 2, 2018
TUOS has since establishment actively participated in awareness creation and advocacy campaigns. Among the most vigorous awareness and advocacy campaigns that the organization is well known for is the Promotion of Peace, Prevention of Sexual Gender Based Violence especially amongst the IDPs, Promotion of Gender Equality, Child Rights and Protection and Environmental and Natural Resource Conservation. The awareness and advocacy activities have included commemoration of various dates on the UN and human rights calendar and the Somali National days relevant to these thematic areas.
Emergency humanitarian interventions

TUOS has since the beginning been on the forefront in providing humanitarian assistance to families and communities affected by shocks and disasters from the provision of food items and clothes to families affected by fire disasters to digging of shallow wells and provision of jericans,, clothes, tents, to IDP families and disaster affected families.
WASH

The water, sanitation and hygiene component comprises of hygiene awareness sessions, construction of water structures (shallow well, water reservoirs), water trucking, rehabilitation and construction of pit latrines and hand washing facilities and advocacy on the stopping open defecation.
